Original Description
Have you ever noticed that most cars you see in GTA are the highest trim level? It's never like that in real life, I'm more likely to see a BMW 320i than a BMW M3, wouldn't you agree?. The aim of this mod is to add more variety in that sense, starting with the Tailgater.
Version 0.2.5 Includes the Obey Tailgater TD 2.7, a lower-end model of the Obey Tailgater, and the stock Bravado Buffalo.
Stock Buffalo Features:
- All features of the original Buffalo except breakable windows
- Entirely standalone!
Tailgater 2.7 Features:
- All features of the original Tailgater (breakable windows, working lights, interior, etc.)
- Custom handling. Slower, FWD, tops out at around 100-110mph ingame.
- Custom sounds. Diesel sounds used from the Speedo.
- Entirely standalone!
Note:
This DLC also includes a custom popgroups.ymt. You can use this to add the Buffalo and Tailgater 2.7 to traffic if you wish. It also includes a few cars that aren't normally in traffic such as the normal Tailgater, Buffalo S, etc. More information inside the download.
Installation:
Copy the files in the folder structure to the correct folders in Grand Theft Auto V\Update (or any mods folder you have).

Update 0.4.1 pending approval, Buffalo headlights should no longer be tinted when you apply window tint. Please let me know if there are any more issues with the Tailgater or Buffalo. I'm aware that the Tailgater has glitchy looking broken glass for the front/rear window but I'm not sure if I can fix that.
If both are pretty much perfect I will move onto a new car.
@D13H4RD2L1V3 Working fine for me with no changes from the released version.
It might be because of more cars being added by the Lowrider update, which, if you have a lot of addon cars installed, can crash your game (so it's kinda related to this but not caused by it if you get that).
I described a fix in another comment, see if it works:
"Are you using OpenIV.asi for your mods folder? If so, run GTA, let it crash, then check OpenIV.log in the game folder. The last file is the one it crashed on. If it crashed on anything ending with "clip_anim.rpf", or a different file each time, try this:
1. Go to update.rpf in OpenIV (or your mods\update.rpf)
2. Go to common\data and extract gameconfig.xml
3. Open gameconfig.xml, search for VEHICLE_SPAWN, Vehicles, VehicleModelInfo, and ExtraVehicleModelInfo
4. See the value that ISN'T "1"? (it's normally 5301 or something, whatever) Increase those by a few thousand or hundred each.
5. Put your new gameconfig.xml in and try again."
@TheAdmiester It worked! Many thanks!
(But Van123's mods still don't work for some reason, even though many addons now work)
Nevermind, Van123's mods now work. He fixed something.
Cool Mod.
Also have an Idea or two for Low End Cars.
The Surfer (VW BUS ) has a Beater and a Custom Version with shiny Rims and Surfboards. How about a plain Stock Version with clean Paint, color combos taken from the Beater, the Beaters Wheels in black with silver hubcaps and new Interior from Custom Surfer.
Another "lowend" Car would be the Slamannan Panel van without Liveries and same Colors as the Slamvan Pickup
Update?
No more updates for this? I really loved it :(
@GreenAid So did I... if only this would be kept going...
So are you officially gone? :(
@GreenAid Nope, just been busy and right now prefer to play the game rather than try to create stuff.
@TheAdmiester Oh! Ok no problem, if you ever feel like doing more it would be awesome :)
How to spawn the cars?
@TheAdmiester Hey man, I just read about an issue with the rear window/s on the Tailgater. Has this been fixed? Also, these are simply great :) which is why I'm wondering if you're planning to do more of them?
@TheAdmiester By the way, I don't mean to sound rude and I hope it doesn't come off as that, but just out of curiosity what did you exactly change on the Tailgater from the vanilla version? I can tell you removed one of the back exhausts so that there's only one and not two but I can't spot any other difference.
@Number1GojiFan I've been busy lately so nothing is going to be changed/added/fixed for the foreseeable future. On the Tailgater it's only a small few changes, it now has the Ingot's rims and a 2.7 badge has been added in place of the Obey logo from what I remember.
@TheAdmiester Alright, thanks man :). Hopefully, you'll have time some day to update and continue this.
Yeah I'd love to see this updated as well :D
Pidar where tuning for cars Tailgater ???
I replaced the stock Buffalo's sounds with the Gresley sounds so that it sounded like it had a smaller engine.
@TheAdmiester Hey mate, any chance you've decided to work on this amazing mod again? Cheers either way. ~umisery
hi, how to install this?
