@itk thanks for the fast reply.
Both damper options at 0 don't seem to fix it.
The best way to describe it is that whatever the motor tries to do, it only applies the force as jitters (very fast on/off). It basically sounds and feels like a small jackhammer when I turn the wheel.
Any ideas what else it could be?

    Hi @ikt
I'm having a strange issue where turning the wheel is super jittery. (g27 wheel)

i've tried every force feedback setting from the lowest to highest, I've updated to latest version of the mod, and I've tried resetting all the settings to default.

It's perfect for around 10 seconds when I start playing, then the jitter starts. And when I switch windows out of the game the wheel goes back to feeling perfect with smooth resistance.
    Any ideas?

Love your work BTW. You make this game worth playing!

@ikt one more idea for you. GTA5 seems to have an automatic brake as soon as you release your foot from the pedal (unless maybe it's just a weird issue I'm having, but I googled and some other people say the same thing.).
Basically the car slows down super fast instead of just continuing to roll on its own, which is very unrealistic, and also very annoying for gear shifting. So if you know how to disable it, that would be a nice addition to your mod. The mod for realistic driving disables this for small and medium cars but things like trucks still have this auto-brake enabled.
    :)

@jedit I've installed a mod for a wider field of view. Helps a bit but no matter how wide I set it, it just keeps stretching the image and never showing me true 180 degrees, so I just set it to between 100 and 130 and then aim slightly with the mouse to see junctions before taking a corner.
Also this mod makes it feel like you're going super fast. Works best for me with the setting in the GTA camera menu that makes POV view on the bonnet of the car instead of inside the car. Much better view of the game. I've also sometimes set the vehicle to invisible so I can't see it at all, but this makes corners hard because it's harder to see where the car is aiming after you've looked left or right slightly.

I've also put a mouse behind my head, so that I have the option to turn my head slightly to get the game to look left or right slightly. (you can turn sensitivity down in GTA5 mouse menu). This works surprisingly well. :)

I tried a face tracking software but it took too much resources from the computer and also made the whole machine crash very often.

And just an update on speed, in case anyone is having the same issue of cars going too fast because the pedals are too sensitive. Not sure if it's a problem with this mod. Might be something else I installed and didn't uninstall properly. Also, it's more problematic when you have the super wide field of view set up that I have so I can see junctions better.

Here is the fix: Download the Menyoo PC mod by Mafins, install mod, open GTA, open menu with F8 key, go to Vehicle options > Meyoo Customs > Scroll to bottom > limit top speed (this also reduces the pedal sensitivity at low speeds) between 50 and 100 kmph works well depending on vehicle. On mine changing it back up doesn't work, so if you lower it too much just spawn a new vehicle and try again. This must be done for each new vehicle you get, but the vehicle can be saved in the vehicle spawning menu.

@ikt Thanks very much for your help so far.
Two more things. I can't get 900 degrees of rotation from the G27 wheel. I've tried the soft-lock options in the mod but no matter what I do the game won't see the motion above 720 degrees, and the soft lock stays at 720 degrees, even if it says differently in the mod menu.
I've also tried changing the Steer > Max setting in the text file to 10000, (I think I read this is how many steps the G27 wheel has, but don't quote me on that) but it returns to the default 65535 after starting the game.

I've tried deleting the mod files and putting a fresh copy of the mod back in, but i have the same issue.

Logitech settings software just has the option for "sensitivity" from 0 to 100% but changing this doesn't help.

Any ideas? My only idea from here is to reinstall GTA and maybe windows too, which would take a lot of time. :/

And finally, any idea why I can't disable force feedback? I could to it before I put the fresh copy of the mod in. Is my system maybe just buggy? Or is there a hidden setting that I forgot about?

    Thanks again!

@ikt I'm wondering if you know of a way to make the throttle less sensitive? Like you can do with the brake curve setting? I tried the Anti-deadzone for throttle setting but I'm still finding it really difficult to stick to a low speed with the G27 pedals.
I tried from the Logitech settings program but it doesn't affect the game for some reason.
Thanks again. Your mod is my favourite thing on the computer! :)

I wonder if it's a setting in the mod I'm using for realistic handling and grip. I think there was something there about speed.

@renzo1999rey It should be the button with { and [ on it. Maybe also try with the shift key.

Thanks again for the awesome mod. I'm using this game to learn to drive on a budget. 45 hours with an instructor here would cost me £1350. That's the average time it takes people to learn. :O (plus another £300 for tests, etc.)
I will spend a bit of time with a human instructor, but for the most part your mod is absolutely awesome for practicing the shifter, clutch, breaking, speed control, steering, etc. :) I've already done something like 25 hours in 2 days.
I mean if professional racing drivers can practice with simulators then why not me. I've already improved loads. The amount of detail that you've put into the mod is just wonderful. :)

@ikt Cool. It's a great thing you told me x360ce isn't needed. I removed it and now it works so much better. With x360ce there was no way to keep a consistent speed below 65mph. There was just no throttle and then far too much throttle, in the space of 1mm movement. Breaking is now far smoother without it too.

For the audio, it's not so much the volume, but more that the rest of the sounds are far louder than the engine, at least on my setup, which might be caused by one of the mods. Someone explained to me in the forum here how to manually edit the files. It's a fair bit of work to do all the files but maybe I can just reduce the worst ones.
