@r1-fast was right.
If ur having the crashing problem with the new update, doing the following will work as a WORK-AROUND. It will NOT completely fix the problem, so you'll have to repeat some steps every time u play.
This has been confirmed to work for single player/Story Mode only.
1. Copy/Paste the three files over from the update, if u haven't done that already. (This should only be done once)
(Repeat the following steps every time u play)
2. CUT/Paste the dinput8.dll file over from ur GTA V folder to ur desktop so it will be deleted from ur GTA V game folder.
3. Start GTA V in single player/Story Mode and then u should be in ur recent single player game as per normal.
4. Once that's done, Replace the dinput8.dll in the GTA V folder and it will be temporarily fixed so u can play.
Sorry for the late reply, @BigWhiskey. Been playing TF2. Anyways, to answer ur question, replace the dinput8.dll file while in game.
